Stop wasting your time

We’re spending too much time consuming content. Even now, reading this.

What do we actually need all of this information for? Sure go ahead, be inspired, follow entrepreneurs. But don’t sit there reading and listening and watching and not doing anything, complaining about how your life is, complaining how well everyone else is doing.

You’re wasting time. You’re wasting time now when you could be creating something amazing. Cut out the distractions, work on the important stuff, work out what is important to you and go and do it.

There is no luck, you make luck. Yes you will fail, yes you’ll fail again, yes you’ll fail many times, but learn from the failures and then forget about them, move on. Don’t keep recalling how you were “screwed over” or how “unfair” the situation was. Grow up, move on: be good, be great and then be awesome.

Don’t expect results today or tomorrow. Don’t feel entitled to wealth, fame, fortune or inner happiness. Go out there and actually earn it, put in the hard work, it is not going to happen overnight. You’re going to need to work really hard, harder than you think you can and you’re going to need to keep going and going and going and going until you’ve achieved your goals. That’s the reality.

Work out what you want from life, you’re never too old to try new things and you’re never too young to start. It’s your life, own it, whatever your passion is, love it, do it and give it everything.

This is what I’ve just said to myself – I’m making the change today, I’m going to read this to myself every single day until I’ve achieved my goals.

Who’s with me?

    1. That’s made my day thanks Brian. This post wasn’t a “I’m not writing anymore post” by the way so don’t worry about that, I’m not giving up on writing!

  1. Couldn’t agree more! My life dream was always music. I dedicated my late teens and my entire twenties to “Making it.” Never stopped, never let anything get in the way. Eventually, (after eight years of work), we signed to Atlantic Records. To me, I thought that was it. Here we go! We made it, signed to a major label. After three years of touring and playing so many shows I can’t even put a number to it, we got kicked down again and eventually left the label.
BUT you get back up again and keep fighting, just like you said. My goals have changed, my life has changed, but I didn’t change, my drive and determination didn’t change. That experience has led me to a new one. Now I do schools assemblies for kids grade K-5 promoting disability awareness with a main focus on Autism. Teaching them that everyone is equal, and everyone has their own ‘dragons’ to conquer. As long as you always put everything you got into everything you do, you will never have any regrets.
Only you know what its like to live life through your eyes…

This is exactly what I was telling myself this morning. I’m done saying that I need to make changes and then continuing on doing the same things day in and day out. I’m on a new path to make my business the top small business branding agency and I’m not going to stop until I get there, and even then what’s beyond that?

  3. I’m just going back over unread emails after unsubscribing to all newsletters, there were many…

Yours is a new subscription so I’m staying for a while :)

I’ve written all other subscriptions down and I’m giving myself a month of doing, rather than reading!

I’ve felt so good already. I didn’t realise how much constantly keeping up with it all was draining me.

I have bought books, which I can take out, somewhere in nature and read without the haste that goes with my inbox or Medium.

I felt like there’d be more like me either just realising this or had seen it all along.

Thanks for sharing and good luck with doing!
