Plugin of the week this week is Simple 301 Redirects.

What is it?

It is a very simple way of managing 301 (permanent search engine friendly) redirects on your WordPress website.

Why do you need it?

It’s great for a number of things. I use it mainly to manage my redirects from old pages to new pages if I change a website’s sitemap. It can also be really powerfully put to use for short URLs (or web addresses) based off your domain name. For example can go to an image of a “cool” emoji or probably more usefully you could set up simple landing pages with easy to remember URLs and use this plugins to direct traffic there like:
